Pointillism

Benjaman Kyle - miguel endara - surface and surfaceI posted about the stippling portrait Miguel Endara did for his father a few months ago but I saw this yesterday on ‘This is Colossal’. After watching a screening of the documentary, Miguel Endara created this portrait to raise funds for Benjaman Kyle who’s situation is explained in the trailer for a documentary below. In short a man now named Benjaman Kyle was found unconscious behind a Burger King in America in 2004, after suffering from amnesia he now has no recollection of his previous life and because he has no social security number or real name he cannot get a job or even stay in a homeless shelter. The reason behind the film and the print is to spread awareness for Benjaman’s plight and to help raise money through the sale of prints to support a petition to get him a new social security number.

Water Light GraffitiBrilliant interactive lighting installation; “Water Light Graffiti” by Antonin Fourneau made during his residency at Digitalarti Artlab. When the LEDs on the wall come in contact with water either by paintbrush,  atomizers, fingers or anything damp they light up to varying degrees depending on the moisture. “Water Light Graffiti is a wall for ephemeral messages in the urban space without deterioration. A wall to communicate and share magically in the city.” The video below is by Digitalarti and music by Jankenpopp. You can see images of the wall being made on Facebook.

12 Seungyea Park : Spunky Zoe - surface and surfaceBeautifully Dark and bizarre hand drawn work from Seoul, Korea and New York based artist Seungyea Park (Spunky Zoe).  Seungyea works by drawing circles with ball point pen and acrylic paint on acid free paper.  Have a look at the images below of her studio to get an idea of the scale of these pieces.  They’ll set you back $10,000 through Saatchi Online.

“I am trying to look at two monsters which is inside of me, and the other is outside of me.  My paintings are like battlefields in which these monsters are struggling”

Seungyea Park has exhibited her work in solo and group shows in Korea and the USA and most recently at the Dr. Park Gallery, Korea with artist Heemyoung Lee.
