Offset_surface and surfaceAnother year over and another Offset, 5th one this year. So many amazing projects and ideas from very talented people. I’ve put together a few images from some of the stand out speakers for me. If you’ve never been to Offset before and like the stuff on this site you should give it a go next year if you get a chance.

Richard Mosse -surface and surface

Irish Photographer Richard Mosse collaborated with Trevor Tweeten and Ben Frost to travel to eastern Democratic Republic of Congo and document rebel enclaves and sites of human rights violations using a now defunct method of military surveillance of infrared film which he used for his previous series of works, ‘Infra’. The video below reveals the stories behind the making of the film, ‘The Enclave’ which is part of a multimedia exhibition currently showing at the RHA in Dublin until the 12th March and then Ormston House, Limerick as part of the celebration of Limerick City of Culture, 2014. ‘Enclave’ was shown at the Irish Pavilion during last year’s 55th Venice Biennale. Looking forward to seeing this when I’m home next, first time I saw his work was at Dublin Contemporary in 2011 and was the best part of the show for me.
